Cabinet Spokesman Minister Dullas Alahapperuma says the government faction will table facts in Parliament during the next sitting pertaining to the controversial Yugadanavi power plant in Kerawalapitiya.
Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing today, Minister Alahapperuma said the government will not reach any disadvantageous decision related to the Kerawalapitiya power plant.
The Minister said the new agreement pertaining to the power plant has not been revealed, adding that his personal view is that the supply of LNG should not be a monopoly of another country.
He claimed that as the former Minister of Energy he called for an international tender for the supply of LNG adding that any conflicts should be addressed.
Minister Alahapperuma said the Energy Minister will make a statement in this regard at the next Parliament session.
The Minister added, several government affiliated parties have also sought a round of talks with the President pertaining to the Yugadanavi agreement.
