A writ petition has been filed before the Court of Appeal seeking an order to prevent the arrest of Parliamentarian Johnston Fernando.
MP Fernando has been named as a suspect in the case filed over the unrest reported in Colombo in May.
NewsRadio court correspondent said the petition has been filed by attorneys on behalf of the Parliamentarian.
The petition will be taken up at the Appeals Court tomorrow.
Nearly 30 persons including Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian were named as suspects and were subsequently arrested in relation to the unrest.
SLPP MPs Sanath Nishantha and Milan Jayathilake who were arrested over the incidents will be produced before Courts once again today.
