Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Pradeep Undugoda has questioned the opposition if the country’s issues will be instantly resolved if the Rajapaksas are removed from governance.
Speaking to NewsRadio the MP said the Rajapaksa’s are not responsible for the decisions reached during the past 74-years.
The MP questioned as to who will take over if the Rajapaksa’s are removed from power, adding that the opposition must clearly state their intentions.
MP Undugoda said various political parties have led this country through the years, adding that all leaders must be held responsible for the country’s present state.
He said the Rajapaksa’s had to face the brunt of such developments through the years.
The Parliamentarian added this issue did not arise within a day or two, or within a year, claiming it is the end result of poor economic and political decisions.
The MP said if the removal of the Rajapaksa’s brings about solutions, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa would step down today.
