Parliamentarian Chaminda Wijesiri says at present laws in the country are enforced in three separate ways.
Speaking in Parliament, MP Chaminda Wijesiri questioned as to what law is being enforced to prevent people from attending the protest in Colombo.
In response, Minister of Public Security Sarath Weerasekera said it is the duty of the Police Department to maintain law and order in the country.
Minister Weerasekera said Police is also engaged in coronavirus mitigation efforts.
The Public Security Minister said he will investigate all complaints lodged against Police and therefore requested the opposition to lodge complaints, if any instead of hurling baseless allegations.
