The United Teacher Services Union says the decision to refrain from filing applications for examinations was a collective decision that will be carried forward.
Speaking at a media briefing, Secretary of the Union Sanjeewa Bandara said certain trade union representatives are working as representatives of the government.
Bandara said the decision to boycott exam application submissions is not a decision by one trade union.
He claimed that certain groups are attempting to create divisions between unions, adding that government henchmen are creating sides between teachers and principals.
He stated that one faction announced that they will begin submissions of applications.
However Bandara said the decision to withdraw from application submissions, online teaching and other duties was reached collectively by the Teacher Principal Trade Union Alliance adding the decision will continue to remain in place.
