The Ceylon Teachers Service Union warns that their struggle will resume if the circular pertaining to solutions provided by the government to issues faced by teachers and principals is not issued before the 5th of January.
Chief Secretary of the Union Mahinda Jayasinghe taking to social media this morning said the government will determine if teachers and principals will once again resort to union action.
He said if steps are not taken to fulfil promises pertaining to addressing salary anomalies and other concerns, they will resume trade union action, adding that their struggle was merely temporarily suspended and not brought to a halt.
Jayasinghe said this measure will only further hamper the education of children.
