Minister of Mass Media Dullas Alahapperuma says all administrations that governed the country after the Independence should be held responsible for the current state of the country.
Speaking in Parliament today, during the debate on the second reading of the 2022 Budget, Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said only one administration cannot be blamed for the current failures.
He said Sri Lanka has not been recognised internationally as Sri Lankan citizens can enter only a limited number of countries without a visa. The Minister said passports of Japan, Singapore and South Korea are well recognised and that citizens of those nations can enter 191 countries without a visa.
Minister Dullas Alahapperuma noted that those Asia nations are above even countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.
He said while leaders of such countries have ensured respectability for their citizens, Sri Lanka is lagging behind.
Minister Alahapperuma, therefore, stressed that all governments who were in power must be held responsible.
