The Sri Lanka Freedom Party reiterates that an all-party government is required to resolve the issues in the country.
Speaking to media in Kandy, Senior Vice Chairman of the SLFP Rohana Luxman Piyadasa said the current crisis in the country is deteriorating further.
He said ports employees and the working class are planning to stage protests to safeguard the country’s resources.
Rohana Luxman Piyadasa noted that at present there is no fuel, medicine, gas and necessary food items in the country.
He said while the public is suffering, the President, Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers are contradicting each other.
The Senior Vice Chairman of the SLFP claimed that said the country’s governing structure is under threat.
He said therefore an all-party government should be formed to provide solutions to the issues.
Rohana Luxman Piyadasa said as a people-centric party, the SLFP while supporting the struggle is focused on providing answers to the issues faced by the people.
He said an all-party government should be formed for a specific time period, provide solutions to the issues and then call for an election.
Rohana Luxman Piyadasa said political parties should seek a fresh mandate from the people at the earliest.
