Minister of Sports Namal Rajapaksa says the present government is prepared to face an election any time.
Speaking to media after an event to educate heads of local government bodies today, Minister Rajapaksa said they will not hesitate to go before the public to renew their mandate.
He said they battled with the previous administration over election delays.
Minister Rajapaksa noted that since voters elect governments, they should be provided with an opportunity periodically to renew the mandate.
He said therefore they believe in conducting elections in a timely manner.
Minister Namal Rajapaksa said they are not holding discussions at present to conduct elections but working to provide concessions to the people.
He said through the budget they have allocated provisions to the rural public and they want to ensure the development funds reach to them appropriately.
