Leader of the National Freedom Front Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa says his faction is undecided on the leadership of a new alliance they are planning to form with a group of progressive political parties.
He added MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara is willing to propose Weerawansa’s name to lead the alliance.
Speaking to media after holding talks with party representatives yesterday, MP Wimal Weerawansa said they have not finalised a name or leadership structure for the new alliance they are planning to form.
MP Weerawansa said they held talks on the social and political crisis Sri Lanka is facing, and discussed methods to aid the public to face daily issues.
Parliamentarian Weerawansa said the public must act diligently, to prevent an unfavourable situation being created, as expected by malicious third parties.
He also noted the NFF proposals for the 21st Amendment to the Constitution have been presented to the Justice Minister.
MP Weerawansa said his faction also decided to participate in an all party leaders meeting that is scheduled to take place at 3pm today to discuss the 21st Amendment.
