Parliamentarian Vasudeva Nanayakkara once again reiterated his demands for the government to step down in order to form an all-party government.
MP Nanayakkara speaking at a media briefing today said the Prime Minister must resign and the President must summon all heads of political parties and with their consent appoint a new Prime Minister.
He noted that constitutionally for this move to go forward the President must remain in place.
MP Nanayakkara said in order to form an all-party government the opposition including the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, the JVP, the Tamil National Alliance, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, and all other parties must join hands adding that there is no other alternative.
MP Nanayakkara stated the only obstacle is the Prime Minister, who he said must resign, to pave the way for a new Premier.
