Parliamentarian Vasudeva Nanayakkara says he is unaware as to why the No-Confidence Motion against the government is being delayed.
Speaking at a media briefing today, MP Nanayakkara said suspicions arise whether a political deal is in play between the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the government.
He said the tabling of the No-Confidence Motion has been delayed by two weeks and questioned the reasons behind the delay.
MP Nanayakkara added around 50 Members of Parliament became independent of the government and have expressed hope in signing the Motion, which has been communicated to the opposition.
The Parliamentarian noted that No-Confidence Motions are in general tabled by the opposition.
However, he charged that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya is yet to hand the Motion over to be signed.
MP Nanayakkara said there is a common consensus across the country and demands for the President and the government to step down.
