Former President Maithripala Sirisena says it is not unusual for groups that are part of a government to have varying opinions.
Speaking during an event in Polonnaruwa today, former President Sirisena said a number of persons have expressed their opinions over the Yugadanavi Power Plant agreement.
The former President noted that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has also informed its stance pertaining to the Yugadanavi Power Plant to the government.
Former President Sirisena said coalition partners should be able to express their views on matters concerning the general public openly.
The former President said all previous governments also had groups who opposed certain decisions taken by the Cabinet.
