The suspect who stole tear gas canisters from the Police during a protest held adjacent to the Polduwa Junction, Welikada on the 13th of July has been remanded until the 5th of August.
The suspect was arrested yesterday and produced before the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court No. 04.
The Police said a tear gas bomb was also found in the suspect’s possession.
The Police said protesters had stolen the tear gas canisters from a three-wheeler belonging to the Public Order Management Division.
The 30-year-old resident of Kottegoda, was arrested based on the investigation carried out over the incident.
