Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekera says more than 42,000MT of petrol is currently in storage in Sri Lanka as of 8:30 this morning.
In a Twitter update, the Minister said 20,598MT of diesel, 1,778MT of super diesel, 42,750MT of 92 Octane petrol, and 6,579MT of 95 Octane petrol are in Ceylon Petroleum Corporation storage facilities.
However, the Minister noted that a stock of petrol is being unloaded from a vessel.
The CPC storages are also in possession of 3,104MT of jet fuel.
