The United National Party will conduct a membership drive this weekend.
National Organizer of the UNP former Minister Sagala Ratnayaka has announced that the membership drive will be conducted on the 12th and the 13th of March between 9am and 5pm.
UNP activists are expected to conduct the membership in all electoral divisions in the Colombo district.
The UNP is focusing on regrouping the existing members in addition to handing over new memberships.
In a statement, the UNP said although the party faced a setback during the last two elections, people are once again rallying around the UNP.
According to the statement, the UNP has been instrumental in all major development work carried out in the country.
The UNP said it possesses the expertise and experience to address the current issues faced by the people.
Meanwhile, the UNP has organized a satyagraha campaign against the actions of the present administration on the 25th of March.
The event will take place at 3pm on the 25th of March at the Hyde Park grounds.
