Trade unionist Ananda Palitha says the fuel crisis in the country will worsen after the 17th of this month.
Speaking to NewsRadio Ananda Palitha said the threat of factories having to close due to the fuel shortage, also looms in the horizon.
He accused the state mechanism of being inefficient, which has been ignored by leaders.
Palitha said the government did not import a diesel shipment from India after the 29th of April.
He added that 95 Octane petrol was scarce since the 21st of February. Ananda Palitha said the President did not have any answers to the people’s grievances.
He claimed the government has also failed to release the LP gas shipment in time, as late payment fees had to be made in addition to the cost of the shipment.
The Trade Unionist claimed a commission mafia based on fuel imports exists that has led to the public facing gas shortages.
