Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila will represent Sri Lanka at the Gastech Exhibition & Conference that gets underway today at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Gastech Conference is the world’s largest exhibition and conference supporting gas, liquefied natural gas, hydrogen and energy industries.

Minister Gammanpila will also address the Gastech Summit on fast tracking policies to increase the use of hydrogen as a fuel in order to reduce carbon emissions by 2050.

Secretary of the Energy Ministry KDR Olga and a Lanka delegation will  be part of the Conference.

The Media Unit of the Energy Ministry said the Minister will hold discussions with his United Arab Emirates counterpart and heads of oil companies pertaining to the purchase of petroleum on a long term loan basis to Sri Lanka.
