Sri Lanka Railways says train transportation services have come to a standstill due to today’s strike action.

General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways Dhammika Jayasundara said, many employees have taken sick leave today, breaking yesterday’s promise to definitely report to work.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka Railways informs commuters to use alternate modes of transport today.

Trade Unionist SP Vithanage said Union action has been 100% successful since stations and control rooms remain closed
