Trade unions charge that the limited stocks of fuel at the Kolonnawa Oil Terminal are being handed over to government allies.
Trade unionist Ananda Palitha said it is regrettable that fuel is being issued to government allies at a time when even those involved in essential services are languishing in queues without fuel.
He claimed, politically affiliated individuals in luxury vehicles obtain fuel from the Kolonnawa Terminal without tokens or essential service passes.
He charged that a fuel racket is underway while essential workers struggle to obtain fuel.
