The Department of Meteorology predicts several spells of light showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today.
The Met Department said showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province during the afternoon or night.
It added fairly strong winds about 50kmph can be expected at times in the western slopes of the Central hills, Western and Southern provinces.
