The Teachers’ and Principals’ Trade Union Alliance says today will be a decisive day pertaining to teachers and principals salary anomalies.
Taking to social media, Chief Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Service Union Mahinda Jayasinghe said Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to brief trade union representatives of the government’s stance on how to resolve the teacher-principal salary anomalies.
Jayasinghe said further steps will be taken after the discussion.
He said today marks the third consecutive month of their struggle which commenced on the 12th of July.
Jayasinghe claimed when authorities rescheduled yesterday’s meeting, they conveyed that the Cabinet of Ministers will further discuss the matter prior to today’s meeting.
He added media had reported various claims pertaining to the matter.
