Three persons have been arrested for hoarding and selling fuel without permits in Sapugaskanda, Passara, and Ethimale.
Police said they were in possession of 1,740 litres of petrol and diesel.
Police said a 60-year-old individual was apprehended in Ethimale with 1,220 litres of petrol.
He is scheduled to be produced before the Siyambalanduwa Magistrate’s Court today.
Meanwhile, a 48-year-old person has been arrested with 460 litres of diesel in Sapugaskanda.
He will be produced before the Mahara Magistrate’s Court today.
Furthermore, a 40-year-old has been apprehended for the possession of 60 litres of diesel in Passara.
He has been released on police bail.
Police said the suspect has been ordered to appear before the Passara Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
