Court today ordered the confiscated mobile phone and laptop of social media activist Thisara Anuruddha Bandara, who was arrested recently and released on bail, to be returned to him.
The order was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate Keminda Perera.
The Magistrate also revised the order to hand over the confiscated items to the Government Analysts Department.
Meanwhile, President’s Counsel Saliya Peiris requested Court to remove Anuruddha Bandara as a suspect.
However, Court denied the request and informed that a verdict will be announced on the 21st of July.
Anuruddha Bandara was arrested by Police on the 2nd of April under Section 120 of the Penal Code.
He was arrested for allegedly publishing posts on social media and inciting unrest among the public.
