Chairman of the Litro Gas Company Theshara Jayasinghe, who was removed from his post this morning, has been re-appointed.
Renuka Perera was due to be appointed as the new Chairman.
Theshara Jayasinghe was present today when President Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited the Kerawalapitiya Litro Gas Storage Terminal this morning.
The President is reported to have instructed the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance to withdraw the letter removing Theshara Jayasinghe from the post of Chairman.
The President who visited the main operations room at the Litro Gas Terminal in Kerawalapitiya inspected the process followed from the gas shipments docking at the port, transportation, and storage of gas.
Between 70,000 and 80,000 gas cylinders have been distributed daily throughout the country over the past several days.
Litro Gas expects to meet the current demand for Litro gas in the days ahead.
