Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says no one within the government knows the destination towards which the country is heading.
Speaking during an event in Kottawa the Opposition Leader said members of the government made contradicting statements regarding seeking assistance from the International Monetary Fund.
He claimed the government claimed they wrote to the IMF while the IMF claimed it did not receive a letter thus far.
The Opposition Leader said the country’s is in a dire situation adding they will not establish a disruptive government and will establish a government with a clear vision centred around serving the public.
MP Premadasa said the government is attempting to control the public through the 20th Constitutional Amendment, strict laws, by destroying democracy and arresting individuals over social media posts.
He added the people must not be controlled, and they are prepared to make the relevant change.
He further said he will not be a traditional Opposition Leader.
