The 43 Brigade has urged the government to immediately establish an interim government.
Speaking at a media briefing yesterday Chairman of the 43 Brigade former Deputy Minister Karu Paranawithana said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will not step down from power while the Rajapaksa’s are incapable of governance and they lack solutions to issues as well.
Paranawithana said the Rajapaksa’s are incapable of leading the country even one step forward and have also failed to follow through with its policies as a majority of Gazettes are being reversed.
He said elections cannot be held either, as Parliament can be dissolved only by February next year.
The Former Deputy Minister said an election cannot be held as the country lacks paper to print ballot papers.
He said the only solution at the moment is the establishment of an interim government with the involvement of all opposition party leaders.
