The Ministry of Technology says a programme has been implemented to provide diesel to telecommunication towers.
The programme was implemented as telecommunication issues arose in several areas due to continuous power cuts, and the lack of diesel for generators to function in the event of a power outage.
As a result, the towers were unable to operate resulting in several issues regarding network coverage and difficulties in accessing 4G.
Telecommunication companies said although there are alternative power sources at towers to provide uninterrupted network connections, the capacity of the sources are limited in the event of prolonged power cuts.
The companies said therefore it could lead to communication disruptions.
