A technical officer serving at the Katunayake Air Force Base has died in a motor accident along Mankada Road, Kadawatha.
The accident was reported when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a double cab.
The deceased is a 25-year-old resident of Gonahena, Kadawatha.
The driver of the double cab has been arrested by Police, and will be produced before the Mahara Magistrate’s Court today.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will make a special address to the nation this evening.
