The Sri Lanka Government Teachers Association has requested the President and the Minister of Finance for an opportunity to hold discussions.
Chief Secretary of the Association Shehan Dissanayake speaking at a Satyagraha campaign at the Agitation Area yesterday, said they have engaged in the Satyagraha for the past five days.
He said the President passed the Agitation Area multiple times adjacent to the Presidential Secretariat.
Dissanayake said the President, as the democratically elected leader, must listen to the people’s grievances and called for a sitting to hold discussions pertaining to their demands over salary anomalies that have existed for 24 years.
He called for prompt intervention in solving their concerns.
