Teachers and Principals of government schools have planned to strike on Monday, calling for the government to provide solutions to the present crisis.

The teachers claim that staff and students faced many difficulties in finding means of transportation to report to school, due to fuel shortages and continuous protests.

Principal Trade Unions revealed that their proposal for teachers to work and students to learn at the closest school to their homes was rejected by authorities.

Issuing a statement, the Secretary of the Union requested teachers and principals to participate in the island-wide strike organised on Monday, calling for the government to provide reasonable solutions to the present crisis.
