The Government Medical Officers’ Association says the salary anomalies of teachers and principals should be eliminated only based on the wage policy of Sri Lanka.
Speaking to media, Member of the GMOA Dr. Nalinda Herath said if attempts are made to resolve through a Cabinet paper, the matter could escalate into other areas.
He said the GMOA has also written to the President over the matter.
Dr. Herath noted that they understand that teachers are facing certain issues which must be resolved but stressed that it should be addressed based on the wage policy of Sri Lanka.
He said by providing temporary solutions through Cabinet papers, it will further complicate the entire state service.
