The Opposition claims the country’s economy is collapsing.
Speaking during a media briefing today, Parliamentarian JC Alawathuwala said there is a requirement for conducting transactions with the world due to the lack of foreign exchange.
MP Alawathuwala said the government claims it will bring in foreign investors adding however it is evident that the economy continues to weaken.
He said in order for Sri Lanka to move forward the country needs to carefully respond to allegations made at the United Nations Human Rights Council without making various statements locally.
The Parliamentarian said the public faced numerous difficulties when the country lost the GSP Plus Trade concession, adding many were left unemployed or lost their revenue streams.
