The Ceylon Teachers Union says the suspension of the ‘Suraksha’ insurance scheme for school children is a serious concern.
Speaking to NewsRadio Chief Secretary Joseph Stalin said 3.3 million students were part of the insurance scheme which has been halted.
Stalin said the agreement for the insurance scheme has not been renewed and claimed this too is a result of the prevalent crisis.
Stalin also charged that the meal programme enabled for students has also been suspended.
