State Minister Dilum Amunugama says steps will be taken to raise the standards of the Police service in the country by minimizing continuous allegations leveled against Sri Lanka Police.
Speaking during Parliament yesterday, State Minister Amunugama said steps are being taken to set up rural security committees with the participation of youth.
The State Minister said Police always encounter resistance when carrying out its duties claiming citizens of the country do not like laws being enforced.
He said the State Ministry for Community Police Services was established through the Extraordinary Gazette No. 226/17 on 03 May 2021 under the Community Policing Programme of the President.
