The National People’s Power claims state resources are being destroyed at present.
Speaking during an event at the Kelaniya University Leader of the party Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the NPP has no need to gather resources or funds for their personal gain.
The MP questioned what will be left of the country if state resources including ports, power plants, oil tanks, the coastline and estates belong to foreign countries.
MP Dissanayake claimed the country is losing state resources and has become a country that begs before the international community.
The MP noted the government obtained USD 250 million from Bangladesh and asked for additional time to settle the loan, while it also sought a loan of USD 200 million from Pakistan to obtain cement and iron and a loan of USD 300 million from Australia to import milk powder and flour.
He added USD 1,000 million each was sought from India and China to obtain dhal, oil and other essential goods.
The MP claimed amidst the Russian invasion of Ukraine the government sought a loan of USD 300 million from Russia as well, to obtain fuel and gas.
MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake further said the NPP is prepared to set an example for the programme required to uplift the country.
The MP added the country can be uplifted with determination.
MP Dissanayake under a NPP-led government the pension payment and permits for MPs will be abolished while Ministers will not be provided with an official residence.
He added a NPP-led government will not spend on the former President and discontinue properties allocated for the President across the country.
MP Dissanayake said politicians must set an example that they’re prepared to uplift the country adding the NPP will work a considerable amount of time daily to build the country.
