Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has engaged in discussions with the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe and the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance KM Siriwardana.
MP Premadasa said the opposition has always offered unstinting support to overcome the present crisis. He said it was good to finally hold a productive meeting with the Central Bank Governor.
Premadasa said the opposition will take on any responsibility as long as it does not involve working with any crisis instigators.
Meanwhile, Parliamentarian Harsha de Silva who was also at the three hour long meeting, said the economic situation is grave adding that it is going to be an unenviable gigantic challenge for anyone to save Sri Lanka.
MP de Silva said while the truth of the matter remains bitter, Sri Lanka will find a way out. He noted that all citizens of Sri Lanka must rally together and think of the country before ones-self.
The Parliamentarian said all citizens must rally together, put the shoulder to the wheel, and overcome the mess the Rajapaksas have put Sri Lanka in.
However, MP de Silva said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa must first step down.
