The Special Commodity Tax imposed on a kilogram of imported dates has been reduced.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Finance reduced the Special Commodity Tax on a kilogram of imported dates by Rs.199.
The tax previously stood at Rs.200 and will now be Rs.1.
The Finance Ministry said the measure was taken to provide relief to the Muslim community during the upcoming Ramadan period.
