The Sri Lanka Transport Board depots have been instructed to provide fuel for inter-city private buses during the festive season.
The National Transport Commission said five SLTB depots are currently providing fuel for intercity buses.
Meanwhile, The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation says arrangements have been made to import 265,000MT of diesel during the month of April.
Chairman of the CPC Sumith Wijesinghe said they aim to increase the limit of the buffer stock of fuel in Sri Lanka, to prevent a fuel shortage in future.
He also revealed that fuel consumption at present has increased exponentially.
