The Sri Lanka Transport Board says measures are in place to operate all Sisu Sariya buses today, with the reopening of schools for the new term.
When inquired by NewsRadio, Deputy General Manager of SLTB Panduka Swarnahansa said all depot managers have been informed in this regard.
He said school children will be prioritized when providing transport services adding the SLTB hopes to operate all buses today.
The Deputy General Manager of SLTB further said students can also use regular buses to commute to school.
He added there are sufficient stocks of fuel for SLTB buses at depots.
Swarnahansa noted additionally fuel was released for private buses under the programme to provide fuel for private buses through depots.
He said the ordered fuel stocks are due to arrive this evening adding the SLTB will continue to provide fuel to private buses with additional stocks tomorrow as well.
He added therefore school children will not face issues when commuting to school.
