The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna says those who cannot respect the collective responsibility of the government must resign from their respective posts and then criticise the present administration.
Speaking regarding allegations made by a group of Ministers over the transfer of shares of the Kerawalapitiya Yugadanavi Power Plant to an American firm, Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena said the individuals in question are acting as they played the biggest role to form the government.
Minister Abeygunawardena said the SLPP is the main force in the government adding they do not need to take any action over statements or conduct of members of minor parties of the government.
The Minister said they are entitled to make any comments.
Joining the media briefing, General Secretary of the SLPP Parliamentarian Sagara Kariyawasam questioned the actions of these individuals while enjoying all benefits and perks awarded to them as members of the present administration.
MP Kariyawasam said these individuals must raise these concerns at an appropriate place.
Minister Abeygunawardena said the individuals in question could have raised the concerns at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting, or at the Parliamentary Group Meeting or during the government party leaders meeting.
The Minister said Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa clearly informed everyone to submit recommendations if necessary adding these Ministers agreed to it.
