Minister of Labour Nimal Siripala de Silva says the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has not been asked to defect from the government.

When questioned by media regarding the whereabouts of the Chairman of the SLFP former President Maithripala Sirisena, Minister de Silva said he is in Polonnaruwa for an essential purpose.

When questioned regarding a potential Cabinet reshuffle, the Minister said the question must be directed to the President.

Minister de Silva when questioned on whether the SLFP will receive prominent Ministerial portfolios, said any Ministerial portfolio would be sufficient.
