The Sri Lanka Freedom Party during discussions with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has requested an all-party conference to be convened.
When inquired by NewsRadio, General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Sagara Kariyawasam said the President responded positively to the request.
During yesterday’s talks between President Rajapaksa and representatives of the SLFP, the SLFP assured that they will continue to support future activities of the government.
Speaking to media after the meeting, SLPP Parliamentarian Shan Wijelal de Silva said the President expressed his desire to continue to work with all parties affiliated to the government in oneness.
MP de Silva said the Head of State also expressed hope that other parties within the government too will formulate proposals to be discussed with the President.
Commenting on the removal of MPs Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila from the posts of Ministers, MP de Silva said the President informed that even though regrettably, he had to reach such a decision.
