The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has reached a decision to contest as a separate alliance in upcoming elections.
Speaking during a media briefing today, Senior Vice President of the SLFP Prof. Rohana Luxman Piyadasa said although the government continues to print and distribute Rs.5,000 only 7% of the population are state sector employees.
He added the Rs.5,000 allowance has no worth to the rest of the population. He questioned how the people can survive, with the increasing prices of goods.
Prof. Piyadasa said a health expert said over 650,000 individual do not consume dinner.
He claimed the public under these circumstances are looking towards the SLFP for solutions adding the party is taking the necessary steps
