The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has condemned the criticism by various factions regarding the struggle launched by teachers over salary anomalies.
Speaking to NewsRadio Senior Vice Chairman of the SLFP Professor Rohana Laxman Piyadasa said the teachers’ struggle should not be undermined, through statements such as claims that one teacher is sufficient to teach the entire country online.
Piyadasa said teachers receive a low wage while a social service is excepted from teachers.
He added therefore justice must be served for teachers.
He noted the SLFP leads five sections of society including teachers and will therefore support the teachers struggle.
He urged the government to resolve teachers concerns promptly.
