Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka says Sri Lanka is falling into the most powerful financial abyss in history.
MP Ranawaka said the financial crisis in the country is worsening.
Speaking during a media briefing MP Ranawaka said due to the prevailing situation, January will be a decisive month.
He claimed the country’s foreign reserve crisis has become critical, adding next year will be decisive for the economy.
The MP added Sri Lanka only has foreign assets worth USD 1.5 billion at present, of which USD 350 million is in gold.
MP Ranawaka stressed however over USD 7 billion needs to be paid in debt for 2022.
