The opposition has reached a decision to seek the support of other political parties for the No-Confidence Motion brought against the government.
The matter was discussed during a meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the opposition yesterday.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Parliamentarian Tissa Attanayake said the Parliamentary Group decided to hold discussions with other political parties representing Parliament to move forward with the motion.
MP Attanayake said a number of matters including the current economic and financial crisis and the necessary steps pertaining to the ongoing public protests against the government, were discussed during the meeting.
He added economic experts educated the Parliamentary Group on the prevailing situation.
The Parliamentarian said the opposition will hold further discussions with parties that are functioning independently in Parliament.
