The Samagi Jana Balawegaya has decided to boycott Wednesday’s All Party Conference.
The conference was called by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to discuss and find solutions to the on-going financial crisis.
Previously, the Tamil National Alliance announced that it will participate in the conference while the National People’s Power said it will boycott it.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Parliamentarian Tissa Attanayake said the decision to boycott the conference was taken following discussions held with party members this morning.
MP Attanayake said the government instead of providing solutions to pressing issues faced by the people, is staging media spectacles.
He said despite having full governing power, the government in the past two years has not taken any meaningful steps to provide relief to the people.
MP Tissa Attanayake claimed that the proposed All Party Conference is another attempt by the government to deceive the public and the international community and therefore his faction will not attend it.
