The Samagi Jana Balawegaya says wrong government decisions resulted in the downfall of Sri Lanka’s economy.
Speaking to media today, Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil said the public have been burdened with a shortage of food, fuel, gas and many other essentials.
He said the fuel crisis has prompted a shortage of goods in Colombo, as well as a significant rise in prices due to increasing transport costs.
He questioned the Minister of Trade over solutions to the shortage of essentials in Sri Lanka.
The MP blamed the government and its leaders for the poor decision making skills it has shown during the past two years.
Meanwhile MP Thushara Indunil also claimed that Sri Lanka can learn a lesson from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
He said it is important that Sri Lanka maintain ties with close geographical contacts to the country.
