The protest march organised by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya in Colombo is currently underway.
Police said heavy traffic congestion was reported in Colombo including Colpetty Junction owing to a series of protest marches that are heading towards the Presidential Secretariat.
When inquired by NewsRadio, Parliamentarian JC Alawathuwala said larger crowds than expected had arrived at the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo for the protest march.
Another 219 individuals have been arrested in relation to the violence reported on the 9th of May.
